Wheelchair-using character says goodbye on "Friday Night Lights"

Even though the Jason Street character on NBC's "Friday Night Lights" was not played by an actual wheelchair user, Scott Porter did a wonderful job, as did the writers and producers in showing how someone transitions to becoming a wheelchair user.

The show gave more depth than usual to the "acquiring a disability" story line and once Jason accepted his disability, he moved on, fell in love, had a child and embarked on a career. Just as it should be.

Actor Scott Porter (pictured) blogged about his last episode March 6 on Entertainment Weekly's Popwatch.
